Introduction
A software issue refers to any problem that alters the intended purpose of a computer or disrupts the functionality of the software. For example, if a form submits data to the server with blank entries or fields, it results in wasted server resources. Such problems in software are commonly referred to as issues or bugs.
Originated
It originated in 1947 when a few engineers were working on the Harvard Mark II computer. They noticed that the computer was not functioning properly and, upon investigation, discovered a moth in the relay. They realised that the malfunction was caused by the moth. After removing it, the computer resumed normal operation.
Conclusion
Since that day, any issue found in software has been referred to as a 'bug,' and the concept of using an insect as the symbol for a bug originated from this incident.
